Notch does not collect, sell, or share any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking of any kind. We have no servers.
You can optionally connect a Google account so Notch can show your inbox and mirror your Google Calendar. This is what happens, completely and exactly:
What Notch accesses. With your permission, Notch requests read-only access to Gmail (gmail.readonly) and read-only access to Google Calendar (calendar.readonly). Notch reads recent inbox message headers and snippets, the full text of a message only when you open it, and your calendar events. Read-only means Notch can never send, edit, delete, or move anything in your Google account.
How it is used. Google data is used for exactly one thing: showing it to you inside the app — your mail brief, your inbox, and your calendar events. If your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, Notch may rank messages using Apple's on-device model; that processing happens entirely on your phone. Google data is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with anyone, never transferred to any third party, and never used to train AI models.
Where it is stored. A small cache of recent messages and events is stored in files on your device, readable only by the app and excluded from device backups. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. Notch has no servers: your Google data travels directly between your phone and Google, and nowhere else.
Who can see it. No one. The developer has no access to your Google data, and no human ever reads it.
Disconnecting. Settings → Email → Disconnect removes the account, its tokens, and every cached message and event from your device immediately. You can also revoke Notch's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Limited Use. Notch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Tasks, habits, finances, classes, reminders, notes, photos, workouts, trips and everything else you add are stored in files on your device, readable only by the app. We (the developer) have no access to them, ever.
If the dashboard weather is on, Notch asks for your approximate location and sends only rounded coordinates — no identifiers, no account, nothing else — to the Open-Meteo forecast service to fetch local conditions. This is the app's only network request, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time.
The optional app lock uses Apple's on-device Face ID / passcode verification. Notch never sees or stores biometric data — Apple's system only tells the app "unlocked" or "not."
The travel city search uses Apple's MapKit service to look up places. Your search terms are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing about them leaves your phone.
Notch keeps automatic daily backups on your device, and export creates a file you control. Where you save or send it is up to you.
Settings → Erase all data removes everything instantly. Deleting the app does the same.
